Vohra Wound Physicians of California Successfully Achieves Unanimous Defense Verdict in Elder Abuse Statute Case

GEORGE NOWOTNY QUOTED BY DAILY JOURNAL ON RECENT DEFENSE VERDICT IN HIGH EXPOSURE ELDER ABUSE AND NEGLECT CASE

Los Angeles, Calif (April 19, 2019) – Los Angeles Partner George Nowotny has been quoted by the Daily Journal for their article “Contract Doctors are Not Liable as Custodians or Caretakers, Jury Finds” which covers a recent unanimous defense verdict secured by Mr. Nowotny and Sacramento Partner Kim M. Wells in a multi-million dollar elder neglect and physical abuse case heard in Sacramento County Superior Court.

The verdict garnered attention from the legal publication for its importance to the California medical community at large. As Mr. Nowotny stated for the article, the lawsuit “is a classic example of overreaching applications of the elder abuse act against all claims of both long-term care providers and those that provide short-term care to elders at nursing centers.”
