RoseCrest Garners Vohra Center of Excellence Certification

Everything is “coming up roses” for RoseCrest Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Inman, South Carolina. RoseCrest has been certified as a Vohra Center of Excellence for Wound Management. It’s yet another accomplishment for a facility that also recently achieved 5-star status by Medicare.

Vohra Physician Dr. David Violette, M.D. has been making weekly wound rounds with the wound care team at this facility for three years. “When I started here they were a Medicare 3-star building,” Violette said. “I have had the pleasure of watching and helping them grow. Last year, they were awarded the coveted 5th star. Together, we have worked to achieve a near zero in-house acquired pressure ulcer rate. Their attention to detail is what sets them apart from other skilled nursing facilities.”

Among the criteria needed for certification, RoseCrest also achieved a wound related hospitalization of less than 1% over the last year.

RoseCrest Director of Nursing April Hampton, RN says the nursing staff takes pride in caring for their residents. “Nurses have healing hands,” Hampton said. “We strive for excellence in our ministry of healing.”

Tonya Hensley, RN says a team effort leads to the successful healing. “Wound care requires all your senses and a collaborative effort of the nursing team.”

Christina Hopper Stacey, RN agrees. “At RoseCrest, we always strive for excellence in everything we do but we take the most pride in the care of our residents. Working with Dr. Violette, I have seen the amazing healing from all types of wounds from admission to discharge. This shows that wound healing is always a collaborative effort. From the C.N.A.’s that provide excellent care, to nursing staff that places interventions in place. It’s an honor to receive the certification but truly is a duty in the care of our residents.

Roshane Harris, LPN says the job comes with clinical satisfaction. “I enjoy working with wounds because as a nurse, you’re able to actually see the healing process.”
