Greystone Healthcare Partnering with Vohra Physicians to Provide Evidence-Based Standardized Wound Care

Summary

  • Greystone Miami Region selected Vohra in April 2017 to provide physician-led expertise in wound care.  This was based on Vohra reputation and experience.
  • Greystone’s Director says “the results speak for themselves” in improved patient care
  • Three facilities are now certified as a Center of Excellence in Wound Management

Case Study

The Greater-Miami Region of Greystone Healthcare Management partnered with Vohra Wound Physicians in April 2017. Since then, clinical care has improved through a partnership between the nursing teams and Vohra.  Through its physicians at the bedside, education, and technology wound care has significantly improved.

“I so enjoy having Vohra in my facilities and the results speak for themselves,” Greystone Regional Director Amina Dubuisson said.  “We work as a team. When the doctor comes to the facility, it involves all of us working together to achieve positive outcomes.”

Dubuisson continued, “Now that we have Vohra, our nurses and the Vohra physician make rounds together. We stage the wounds together. Everything is done together. The physician will sit with the director of nursing and with the wound care nurse and they review the healing progress of the residents’ wounds.

In a short period of time, three of the South Florida Greystone facilities were able to be certified by Vohra as Centers of Excellence in Wound Management. Wilton Manors Health and Rehabilitation, North Beach Rehabilitation, and Unity Health and Rehabilitation Center have each received Vohra’s top honor.

“This is absolutely terrific,” said Greystone Regional Vice President of Operations Kimberly Pero. “We are so proud of our team and our partners in wound care, Vohra Wound Physicians. It does take the whole team to make this a successful program.”

This team approach between Vohra and Greystone was extended this spring when Greystone opened its newest facility, Kendall Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Gabriel Betancourt, DO began supporting that new partnership.
