Vohra Wound Physicians 2019 Center of Excellence Conference and Fellowship Program
Vohra Wound Care, the national leader in post-acute wound care, just concluded its annual conference. This provided a unique opportunity for nearly 200 clinicians, medical industry leaders and corporate staff to come together, learn from one another, and refine their clinical skills.
Over the course of three days, attendees focused on everything from surgical procedures to clinical leadership skills to relationship management with the staff of skilled nursing facilities. Highlights included a review of enhancements to MDS, our proprietary electronic health record system, which offers even more ways for our clinicians to easily record and track clinical decision making and healing progress. Fully HIPAA compliant and certified by CMS, our EHR enables clinical decision support, promotes efficiency and informs a comprehensive data repository leading to innovation and insight to progress the field of wound care.
Select Vohra physicians delivered nine primary sessions on topics such as treatment of atypical wounds, infection control, arterial and venous wounds, and skin conditions. All sessions were designed for maximum interaction and were accredited through the University of Miami.
In addition to the sessions, clinicians participated in small group shared learning sessions. Typically convened via video conference each week, these forums convene 10 -12 Vohra physicians to review patient cases and exchange information, all to expand learning and progress the field of wound care.
Finally, Vohra’s founder, Dr. Ameet Vohra, joined us throughout and hosted a Saturday night celebratory dinner where our President John Sory reflected on how far Vohra has come in its 19 years, recording over one million patient encounters a year across 27 states. Patients are being healed and care is improving in facilities far and wide.
As the leader in wound care, Vohra Wound Physicians’ goal is to equip physicians with the resources and education they need to improve wound healing times, reduce wound-related hospitalizations, and decrease infection and amputation rates.
