Peachtree Centre Earns Center of Excellence Certification

Congratulations to Vohra Physician Dr. Omodele Masha, M.D. and Peachtree Centre in Gaffney, SC for becoming a Vohra Center of Excellence for Wound Management!

“I would like to thank Dr. Masha,” said Peachtree Director of Nursing Teda Barrows, RN. “I love her commitment to educating our staff and the time she takes with our staff.  It has made a big difference in our residents’ care. In the short time we have worked with Vohra Wound Physicians our in-house acquired wounds have decreased by 90% and all of our chronic wounds we have had trouble healing are now healed.”

The facility also has a 0% wound-related hospitalization rate since Dr. Masha began rounding at this facility earlier this year.

Dr. Masha says the team at Peachtree Center has shown great motivation and commitment to providing excellent care, culminating with the Vohra Center of Excellence Certification. “During the short time I have been practicing at Peachtree, I have seen the wound team and administration build on their goal to provide excellent care,” said Masha. “Their outstanding nurse, Amy Ashe completed the Vohra online course for wound care nurse certification in record time of less than a week. As a result, Peachtree then met all four primary criteria to attain the status as a Vohra Center of Excellence. This occurred under the great leadership and guidance of the Director of Nursing Teda Barrows. I foresee their wound care program growing leaps and bounds over the next few months and years as they continue to grow as a team and provide excellent care to this community.”

Vohra Wound Certified Nurse Amy Ashe appreciates the value of the partnership with Vohra. “I’m very thankful for the opportunity and I feel that I’ve learned a great deal from the Vohra wound certification course and from working alongside Dr. Masha. I’m also grateful that this knowledge will benefit our current and future residents and allow us to provide excellent wound care.”

Barrows understands that offering a physician-level wound care program to her residents, separates Peachtree Centre from other nursing facilities. “It is very exciting to be able to offer Vohra’s level of wound care to our community. Dr. Masha’s commitment to care and her compassion is contagious. We thank her and look forward to continuing to work with her.”
